Title: CAN THIS HOSE BE THE ISSUE - - HOSE PROCURED - -
Post by: DarkMonster620 on March 14, 2014, 01:54:49 PM
Issue: you give gas, engine shuts off; you give gas with load, in gear, engine shuts off, starts idling OK, then RPMs start going down until it shuts off. . .

Bike is a 2008 848 with DP ECU, Euro spec; filter believe it or not, is about a year old; customer had it and "some else than me" replaced it . . .Fuel here has 5%(so they say) Ethanol . . . Anything else I might be missing . . .

filter say 2006.  replace it.  hose looks like it's coming off the pump.  looks pretty crappy on the plastic (yellowy).

is the intake to the pump clear?

replace all in tank hose and filter and then check fuel pressure in case the pump is rooted.

then look at the rotation sensor or gap thereof.

What Brad said.....

That hose looks suspiciously like regular stuff, IE not immersion rated.
Likely it leaks like a lawn sprinkler.
Need to use 30R10 rated hose.

thank you all . . .

brad, yes, that is the hose that connects pump-filter; pre-filter is "quite" clean, pump is a Bosch unit, OEM was all gunked up, as said before, this was done by a "mechanic" . . . he even loctited the screws that hold the flange to the tank . . . As per customer, filter was "new in OEM box" and he replaced it when he replaced when he replaced the pump  . . .

Speeddog, could make very little of the writing on the hose . . . gonna try get some 30r10 . . . doubt I'll find some in the few hours "specialty" stores are open . . .

Againm, thanks . . .

Found this in the description of Gates 27093 on the O'Reilly site

Meets the SAE 30R10 specification for submersible fuel line hose applications.
