Hey guys,
So I have this 620 and it has a few issues. Firstly, there's an oil leak. Think it's a gasket, but I don't know where to get new gaskets and would enough of the oil be in the sump to where I wouldn't have to drain it completely? Secondly, the fuel light is dead, found out the hard way. No idea what to do with that one... Lastly the handle bars rub the gas tank when parked leaving a nice little mar. Any quick fix ideas? It also takes about 10 min to warm up, not so much a problem, but is that normal? Cheers. [drink]
The warm up is pretty normal.
Where is the leak?
Plastic or steel fuel tank?
The most likely problem with the fuel light is a bad sender. Pretty common problem, and not inexpensive to replace.
It's a new plastic tank from a recall. And the oil leak I'm still trying to zero in on. Wiped the engine all down so tomorrow I should be able to find exactly where. But it's higher than the oil filter...
The leak is on the left side... Looks like it's coming out of one of the caps( for lack of a better word) on the forward cylinder block. Not sure if I'm describing it well. I'll try to get photos this weekend... Not very familiar with all the Ducati's nomenclature...
There are the valve covers on the head of each cylinder (x2). Then the cam covers that should say Ducati, one on each cylinder. And lastly the alternator cover (left) and clutch cover (right).
As for the tank and bars, quick and easy fix is to rotate the bars forward until they don't touch. Also check for proper tank fitment and that it's centered and not swollen.
