I'm amazed at the amount of force/damage/mistreatment the human body can take and not die.

Now hold my beer and watch this . . .

That's why the faceshield lifts up on many models.  Also, reason for fingerless gloves.

I'm amazed at how many retards and idiots take the MSF class.  That's what God made CONVERTIBLES for - you stupid ass people that can't figure out where the seat is on a motorcycle. :)

We (in our area; mid atlantic) have gone from a 95%+ pass rating to now only a 55-60% pass rating.  We are getting TONS of people that are taking the class because they say:
1. gas is expensive
2. my boyfriend (girlfriend) says I should take it
3. i'm only going to go around town (umm, yeah, right)
4. i want a beginner bike - a gsxr 600 (that was last night from a gal who has NEVER rode on a bike - ever!!)
5. well, the rest of my family rides, I guess I should too....
6. and the best - the guy that failed twice (drove 150 miles to fail twice) -he drove a stunning yellow corvette - an automatic corvette.  He thought the bike was an automatic, too.  :-\

I could go on and on.  I should say we get a lot of great riders, too.  Some are amazing and pick up the skills quickly.  Others are like, well, as we say "a monkey F#$%&*ing a football".  I'm surprised they can even drive a car, and I pray they leave the range before I do.  :)

But the economy tanking is driving many to look for cheaper modes of transportation.  They think riding a bike is "easy" - they show up with a chip on their shoulder, thinking we should just hand them their certificate.  Well, when they drop the bike during a static exercise (not moving) or t-bone another student because they forgot to take their cell phone out of their jacket pocket and it rang and it scared the s@#$t out of them - I get pretty cranky.

Heck, had one two weeks ago that flat refused to use the clutch for anything.  Upshifting.  Downshifting.  Coming to a stop.  None of it.

I will say I love being an instructor.  I've met some amazing people, some i'll never forget because of their wit, charm, smile, etc.  Others because of their bad (or good) driving.  Some of them even become instructors with me (us).  That's cool.  ;D  If you've never been a MSF instructor (on my 6th year now) you don't know the entertainment your missing.  LOL

Oh, i'd not trade teaching for anything.  It's like this: you've got to have a sense of humor about everything.  It might come off sounding bitter, but i'm not.  There are just folks that should not be on a motorcycle.  Some just don't understand they can kill themselves or others.  If you see what we see on the range, you'd understand my cynical comments - and my sarcastic wit about it all. If you take my comments as "anger" they are not - i've got a very dry sense of humor. :)

I honestly see teaching as a vocation.  I've helped many people realize their dream of riding.  They come back year after year and thank you, show off their rides.  That makes me proud.  The hardest thing about my job is counseling people out.  I hate it.  All my instructor friends hate it.

Just last month, we had one of our students - 3 weeks out of class - get hit by a truck and killed instantly.  The truck ran a stop sign, hit her, and then the driver left the scene.  Left the woman to die.  All us instructors were devistated - our students are like our little "flock".  Whether the student passes or not, they are friends and family.  I cried for a week after.

Come take a class I teach, you'd think otherwise of me.  Don't judge a book by it's cover.  :-*

I'm amazed by the size of the universe. Apparently there are 250+ million stars in the average galaxy, and if you held a pin at an arm's-length and held it up to the sky, the pin head would cover around 100 visible galaxies. That's a lot of frickin' stars out there.

BIG universe out there. Amazing.  :o

I'm amazed that it takes me 40 miles on the Duc to get to the liquor store 2 miles away.

Furthermore, I'm amazed that some movies are so terrible that I just don't stop watching them. I watched Death Car or whatever from Tanantino last week. House of 10000 corpses the week before. And tonight....tonight...the kicker....Redline! woooo! sheit. if it wasn't for all the ladies n bikinis I just dont know. Course, there's make the beast with two backsall else on. again.

I amazed that some companies still have great customer service (Skullycandy just replaced some earbuds that broke after about 8 months with a brand new pair).

I'm also amazed at how easy it is to get cool stuff off the internet.  I bought some retro Nike Air Jordans (black Jordan IV for the fans out there) about a week ago and they showed up at my door today.
