Title: Interesting idea on how to fix racing viewership

No way this would ever come to pass and I'm not sure if taking away "the show" would really help viewership... but I'd love to see what kind of technologies would spring out of a series with this kind of rule book.

That's a good idea. I don't know if it would get as many fans interested as he thinks, but it might.

Yup, agree... really would like to see a high level series with closer ties to production machinery.  Hopefully WSBK evo will spur more development on the bikes we can actually buy.

I've always liked road racing (OK, I can very faintly remember names like Stirling Moss racing from my childhood).  My only regret is the trend towards the 'downtown' urban street races, especially in the US.  Maybe OK for underpowered SUVs but not for 21st century F1 and the like.  New tracks like Austin and NJMP are great but, obviously, the investment is huge and economics dictate they get used frequently.

Go watch the F1 race at Monaco. You'll never utter those words again.  8)
