Title: Hello from Adelaide South Australia
Post by: mdiloren on April 15, 2014, 09:24:39 PM
Hi team Monster!

After many year of riding 4 cyl sports bikes, I took a forced break from motorcycle riding by the powers to be. My missus! So I sold the bike and lived miserable ever after. Anyway, we have parted company and she flew off on her broom a few years ago, but this year I felt the urge to travel on two wheels again. It seems my taste for motorcycles has evolved and a big fat 2 cylinder naked bike was on the cards.

So, here I am, the proud owner of a 2003 S4R grey with red wheels. It had 13,000 km on the clock, came fitted with a full termi exhaust. It has a termi mapped ECU - I think. A spare ECU came loose with the bike (I think it is the stock one),and the PCIII is not fitted. It was well looked after by the previous owner, but it did lay dormant for 5 years.

I am exited about riding this thing of beauty. It sounds great, handles great and looks great. I have noted that it does not like the low rev range much and the throttle response under 4000rpm is sluggish. I look forward in exporting ways to improve this minor distraction from a superb machine. I am still pinching myself that I acquired a 996 superbike engine in a monster frame! ;D

Welcome to the international forum for Monster nuts.

It's a great place for info and support.

If the bike has been sitting for a few years, there are some things you need to do around servicing. Put a post in the tech section and you'll get the info you need to have your bike ready.

Cheers.

Hey fellow SA dweller,

Worth joining DOSA if you want to go on organised rides with fellow Ducatisti!
Fortnightly Sunday rides and Thursday night cruises.
Contact Italian Motorcycles on Magil Rd. We have a ride tonight leaving at 6:30pm going to Henley for a meal I believe. Last Thursday ride until Spring.

Cheers,
Linc
