That said, I'd just paint the sucker. There aren't but 3 or 4 parts on the damned thing to get painted anyways. Plus, you could always add tank decals which aren't or won't ever be factory stock. Besides, the black will likely distract from the viewer from the bulbous-ness that is the gas tank. I had a multi-coloured YZF750 once. [puke] It actually looked great in a gloss black. Plenty of clear for a very "wet" black seems to really help. DP could enlighten.
I would go for the old early 90s decals from the black M900/750's. That would be a nice retro look.
