I've got a 01 M750 with a 01 900 I.e. engine. But I'm having a hard time finding any info on the difference between a regular M900 and the 900 I.e., if there is a difference at all. I'm not concerned with the whole I.e. package since I don't have a I.e. bike. Please, fill me in.
the "ie" is a contraction of the italian words for fuel injection.
So "IE" = "FI".
The '01 900 engine will have the close ratio 6-speed transmission, as opposed to the wide ratio 6-speed that the carbureted 900's had.
And it'll have the lower (numerically) primary gears than the carbie 900.
Slightly better cams, as well.
Once again Speeddog, you've come to my rescue.
Dunno if it qualifies as a rescue. :P
is it a m900ie or 900ssie engine?
900ie began in 00, and all 900 were ie from then on.
is it injected or carbed in your 750?
Injected. The engine stamp states it's from a 01 Monster.
