Hi,
Quick question: What is the stock/baseline measurement of the fork tubes in relation to the triples for a 2004 Monster 620?
I've searched but have not been able to find the definite answer. I think anyone with a factory service manual may be able to help (or anyone with a stock 620 and a measuring stick for that matter). I've seen diagrams for other models which measure from the top of the fork tube to the bottom of the lower triple. That, or any equivalent, is what I am looking for. I've monkeyed around with my front end over the years and did not take notes before making adjustments. I've just taken my forks off to change the seals/dust caps/oil and simply want to put them back on at the stock height and go from there again.
Thank you,
I hope this diagram helps, it is a screen shot of the official workshop manual . . .

Perfect!
... and to be sure... that's 205.5 mm? The way it's written with a comma "205,5" always confuses me.
yes it is . .. they use the comma in Europe
The Manual Proofreading Department at Ducati needs to be a bit more diligent. [roll]
205.5mm up from the *bottom* of the lower triple, as the drawing shows, will leave the tops of the fork legs in thin air.
205.5mm from the *top* will work much better.
crap...
So can anyone definitely confirm the measurement?
205.5mm from the *top* of the lower triple will be fine.
Thanks Nick . . . It is corrected in the last 620 manual but I went for year . . . My bad and apologies
Thanks again for the double-check on such a trivial detail. I appreciate it.
make it up as you go along.
