Title: M1100 Sag numbers?
Post by: Slide Panda on May 29, 2014, 11:01:55 AM
Trying to help someone set up a '13 M1100. The owners manual gives amounts of preload from the factory - but really not reflective of what the sag should be with someone on the bike.

Anyone got some target numbers?

Not sure about bike specific but here is a guideline from Ohlins:

With progressive springs, there will be lots of front sag (can't remember if it has progressive rear as well).

My friend added some preload up front, but still got 60 mm  :o

YMMV

Looking at the recommendations listed on my recept when I had my suspension set up,

38mm-40mm front, 30mm-35mm rear. The shop that set my bike up called Ohlins tech dept. and also got there opinion since there was questions about the shock spring rate.
