Title: 2007 S4r with only 1100 miles. Coolant in oil???
Post by: dlk337 on June 23, 2014, 08:15:23 AM
I just purchased a 2007 SR4 with 1100 miles. I purchased it very cheap and here is why.  The previous owner owner was riding it on Fathers Day weekend when coolant started spewing from what looks like the crankcase vent. Directly under the bike with a plug on the bottom similar to what you would see at the end of a sunroof drain hose on a car. He also said white smoke was coming from pipes.  I am picking this bike up tomorrow, I am going to pressure test the coolant system. A friend of mine is bring over a scope to take a peek in the spark plug hole and look for seepage in the cylinder. I have had two Aprilia's but this is my first Ducati. I am perplexed about this situation because the bike only has 1k miles on it. (it looks like it came off the showroom floor). Any thoughts or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank You  _Dustin

Hopefully it's the seal on the water pump shaft in the left case cover.

Could be a head gasket also.

Good luck.
