Title: Sprocket/ Gearing change gor a 2003 620ie Monster
Post by: rastas4 on June 26, 2014, 01:51:06 PM
Hi All

I currently have the stock 15T front/ 46T rear sprocket conbo on my 03 620ie 5 speed Monster. I want to gear ir a little better (taller) for the Highway and want to find out if anyone has tried a 43T rear with the 15T front Combo at all??

Cheers
Peter

not bad combo, just remember you might loose some "get up and go" speed . .  not much

edit: installed a few months ago on a 2002 5 speed 15/39 . . . guy's happy with it on the long run, in the city, he would like "more get up and go" . . . but, his main use is about 250kms ride to/from work and the 5 speed wasn't helping

Installed the 15/43 combo yesterday with a new 104 link chain.

Couldn't be happier.

Sits at around 4300 RPM at 100km's per hour, but still plenty of fun in 3rd gear through the twisty bits!

Sounds good.  I'm running 15/44 on my 750.  I was running 15/43 and that seemed really good for general riding and I was getting 45ish MPG no matter how I rode it..
