Hey so I have had my 2006 s2r 1000 for about a year and a half. not to long ago I noticed that my speedometer wasn't reading the correct speed anymore and it has slowly gotten worse (reading about 45 mph slower than indicated). my local dealership was nice enough to let me take an old monster speedometer with me to try and repair mine but they are just slightly to different, however, when I plugged the other speedometer in the needle went right back to where my stock one sat at. any ideas what the problem could be?

Odometer working? As noted above, your link goes nowhere unless you want to tell the us your outlook password.
Yeah the speedometer works and everything still it just read incorrectly. Where do you guys suggest posting the picture so that everyone can see it?
How about here?
Odometer, the thing that counts miles traveled, not speed. If the odometer is reasonably accurate the speed sensor and related wiring are good and the problem is in the instrument cluster
Is it a loose needle? Glue or nudge it gently into the proper position when off, insert key and let gauges sweep, then verify it stayed the same.
If it's not that, may be the motor that has them sweep, which I'd check for fluid movement, and corrosion on the board.
I've had tons on issues with them (like the needle snapping off the pin a day ago...)

odometer works tachometer works and the speedometer works but the speedometer is reading incorrectly. I tried taking the speedometer apart and gently putting the need back into position but as soon as I plugged it in again it went right back to where it is currently displayed. This also happened when I took another speedometer and plugged it in as well with the needle in the proper position. The need sweeps the whole distance that it is supposed to but instead of going from 0-160 it goes from well below zero to about 110.
