Unfortunately, if you want something like that pic it's gonna have to be a custom job. I'm pretty sure the closest you're gonna get to a low slung exhaust for the M800 is this...

The dual swinger on the M800 creates some routing issues for the exhaust you pictured.

So would it be possible instead of the box, for the exhaust just come straight back?

There are a couple options, they're just becoming harder to get your hands on.

There is a Road Racing exhaust that looks pretty awesome but it's also almost unobtainium.

And probably the only other option is Boom Tubes. They used to be a sponsor here but it doesn't seem so any more, you'll have to Google them. I think the lead time for these was somewhere around 6 months last I heard anything.
(*Disclaimer - These are quite loud, apparently. They're effectively just straight pipes with no muffling)

You know, that's what I hear everyone says, but I always wonder... They can't be any louder than my Harley Nightster 1200 with straight Vance & Hines pipes, right? (http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p594/C11Gidasi/1200nside_zpsa3417d79.jpg)

Hiya Cody.

I have a similar DSS as yours and have looked far and wide myself to no avail. I was luckily able to score a Roadracing exhaust, then modified it to fit when I swapped in a 900 mill. (They're meant to fit 900's, mine was modded to fit a 750 when I bought it, then I modded it back.)

The Ex Box is a nice looking piece but there is some very discouraging feedback about severe power robbing with that exhaust abound on the forums. Mark Sutton from Ducshop spoke of a full 15 hp lost in an already anemic 900 because of that thing, otherwise I would have purchased it.

All that to basically say...good luck. The only thing I can think of that even comes close is the MIVV slip ons, or you could search the board for tutorials on chopping your stock cans.

Probably close to as loud.

A good thing, if you ask me...  [thumbsup]

maybe an s2r cat eliminator pipe with some short mufflers on the end.  it'll be slightly less offensive than the boom tubes or harley.  it'll just piss most people off, not all of them.

I was thinking that too. My set up, before I went back to stock mufflers, was the Marving mid-pipe with the stubby Termi.

However, I don't think that mid-pipe will work with the DSS (without modification). I'm almost positive that it terminates right where the right arm of the DSS is. The clearance of the stubby Termi on my setup (S2R800) sat about an inch from the rear tire, a little farther without the carbon sleeve.
