Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been addressed in another thread, but I came up empty during my search.
My 696 wouldn't start this morning. When I turnover the key in the ignition, I don't see the 'light show' that scrolls 'Monster' across the cluster. Nor do I see the other display lights (green neutral light, immobilizer, etc). Instead, the message 'Pro' is displayed in the lower cluster. The starter also won't 'turn.'
Below is a link to a video that can better illustrate:

Any idea what could be going on here? Lights/horn still work so it doesn't seem like a dead battery to me, though I haven't had the chance to diagnose. I've checked all the fuses.
Some background:
-'09 696 with 4k miles
-used during weekdays for a quick commute (5-10 min ride, 1-2 miles each way). Maybe battery isn't getting enough charge?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Alex
I'm not familiar with the new bikes but a quick google search seems to say the cluster may be in a different mode than normal. From what I read, it seems that the bike is in immobilizer reprogram mode as seen in your video, "PRO 0000" displayed. Don't know how it got into this mode and don't know how to get out of it. Maybe someone else has more knowledge?
Thanks so much for the help. I did some more research and found that there's a hidden service menu that's accessible by turning the key while holding down the left mode switch. Apparently I enabled the 'immobilizer reprogramming mode'.
By holding down the mode switch and turning the key, it went back into normal mode. Light show started and the bike came back to life. Problem solved!
