Title: 06 1000 DS multi. Info?
Post by: memper on July 12, 2014, 04:52:22 PM
I have a line on one but I think 06 is a wide case right? And a no-go fitment in my dinosaur 99 frame right? If it did fit I know I'd have to either modify the swing arm of my 750 or buy a 1000 rear end.

99 frame has the small engine studs, the newer motors have larger ones.

The swing arm for the multi is like the SBK cases, not the monster cases.  different location for the bearings, and different width at the swing arm mounting point.

AFAICT, the differences between "large" and "small" case motors have to do with the internals, the exhaust port locations, and the timing belt length.

Monsters, SS, and STs have the "wide" swingarm mount; SBKs, Multis, and Hypers have "narrow" swingarm mount.
