A buddy gave me a set of revalved S4RS forks from Cogent Dynamic and the brakes that go with it.
My S4R already has 848 master cylinders. My question is, will the forks and the brakes work with my current wheel and brake rotors? I have the axle from the S4RS but wondering whether the ABM brake rotors and my wheel will work with the forks from the S4RS. I know based on the brake calipers, I will need new brake lines.
Do I need spacers to take my rotors due to offset?
Any possibly difficulties I should run into or is this an actual direct swap? Say it aint so.......
If your rotors / wheels are 5 bolt holes, then your offset is 15mm. The S4RS and S4Rt have these.
If your rotors / wheels are 6 bolt holes, then your offset is 10mm.
If you have the 6 bolt rotors you'd need to get spacers for the rotors, or get a new 5 bolt front wheel.

They are 6 bolt rotors on the S4R wheel.

Assuming he doesn't have an S4Rt (2007 S4R with Testastretta motor) then I believe all S4R bikes are, yes. But I didn't want to make an assumption about whether or not he had an S4Rt or had swapped wheels. So the bolts are the quickest way to tell!

Thanks for the help Christian. I really wish I could use them as they have been upgraded with some nice internals. Have invested too much in rotors, brakes, brake lines, etc to tear apart the front.
Will just have to do a winter project with the exisitng forks, which are good and i have some RaceTech internal parts laying around as well.
It might be possible to swap the lowers if you have both forks. I've never done it, but a shop dealing with fork replacements and rebuilding might be able to help you out.
No guarantees but it's worth looking into!
If you're looking to sell the S4RS forks I may know someone interested.
Although spacing out the rotors really isn't that bad at all. If you want the forks and they're worth it, it's a decent option.
Good luck!
