I really dont care what people eat for food. Who cares if you eat dog, we eat cows and pigs and chickens. How about we kill them ourselves and then eat the meat as we bleed the life out of them and see them shake violently as they die. Ill still eat steaks after that.

i think it's pretty obvious what i meant.
they don't want foreigners to see dogs being eaten, which is an element of their culture. period.
same think that Korea did during the olympics.
i could care less if they eat dogs. eat people for all i care.
point is, they want to hide it from foreigners instead of just going along as usual.
it is not like the driving ban (to reduce air pollution) or ads reminding Chinese to be polite to the foreigners. it is no different than them deciding to hide the fact they eat with kui zi (chopsticks) or that women occasionally wear a qi pao.
The City of Denver (even though they are @ $40 million short of what they need to host the convention) has rented a several hundred hotel rooms far outside Denver city limits to house the homeless during the Democratic Convention in August.
During Super Bowls, World Series, etc., hosting citys will do the same.

In certain parts of china food is still hard to come by because everything that you produce needs to be sold to the government so other people can eat. So if your dog is dying or your dog has bitten someone, its going to be eaten. Same is true for ox's. THe only animals actually bred for food are pigs chicken and cute little ducks (that taste so good roasted!!!!)
Am i oppose to the chinese eating dogs, damn right, i think its totally not cool to be serving an animal like that in a restaurant. Though i have to say, i would not have a problem eating a wolf. It might just be the impact society has on me about dogs and cats.

Sure, i dont like the idea of eating dogs myself but what you write is some what "America" centric isnt it? What if India was the wold power right now? They hold the cow sacred. Does that mean their opposition as to what we eat should have any bearing as to rather or not we can eat delicious steak? I sure hope not.

thats exactly my point. I think i only feel that way because i live in America. And youre right everything dies in the end, which is why people over there eat whatever they can get their hands on. "My dad told me once, god made all living beings and everythign deserves an equal chance to be eaten by anyone, so get the make the beast with two backs out of my way. " And i agree, everything dies in the end becasue everything is food for another animal. I just dont feel like eating a dog, but dont get me wrong, ill eat anything if you cook it right. Hell I've already eaten some stuff that most people would probably shun me for. And it all sucked (except for rattle snake and shark fin, and the exotic animal spirits ive drank)

You know those machines used to pluck chickens - looks like a washing machine filled with cheese graters? Well, that is how dogs are killed in restaurants in korea - tossed in there & flayed alive: it takes them a long time to die.
