Title: Fat Duc O2 Manipulator ?
Post by: RonB on July 25, 2014, 05:10:55 PM
I'm putting one on my S2R1000 tomorrow. Full Arrow exhaust and open air box. Wondering if anyone has a good starting point setting?

Since it is used to make it run richer I'm guessing even on the leanest setting the bike will be richer than it is right now? I could start at the lowest and keep adjusting till the popping goes away on deceleration.

Do you have a diagnostic tool or sniffer?

If you do at least have access to a sniffer, CO should read between 3.5% as low ~ 4.5% as high

I had one on my Monster. They basically state that every bike will be different, so they recommend the following (from their manual that I still have):

"It's best to start somewhere in the middle and adjust as needed.  You will want to make very small adjustments to the variable trimmer and then ride for a few miles to allow for the ECU to adapt to the new setting."

I have one of these on my 07 S4Rt and followed the instructions that come with the Fat Duc.  As suggested, very small incremental changes after the engine is warm worked for me. In hot weather, there will still be some significant popping on deceleration. The surging at startup and then some peculiar idle speed behaviour when the engine is still cold may be related to the Fat Duc but does not seem to vary with adjustments to the device.  Good luck.

Thanks guys bought used so no instructions. I did read somewhere that to solve you're idle problems to adjust air bleed screw.
