Fellas, I have posted on here a few times already and have been helped out immensely with some of the issues I have been encountering. It would seem that once I fix a problem, a new one develops.
So I have a M750 and installed a 900ss front wheel. I replaced the entire front end of myM750 as it was wrecked. I just got finished mounting it on the wheel. I do not want to tighten down the two clamp bolts on the right side of the bike as I am waiting for the big to sit properly and bring in that little gap. Right now with the handle bars straight, my front wheel cants slightly at about 3 degrees to the right. What would be causing this?
I have tried moving the wheel forwards and backwards to no avail. I have pushed down on the handlebars to press the forks. I am just out of ideas. Your help would be much appreciated.
Are the axle and bearing sizes compatible?
I was able to switch out my wheel bearing on my M750 Wheel and install in the 900ss. My front axel is the same and all fits properly.

Exactly which parts did you replace?
I replaced my bent forks, shattered wheel, and speedometer drive. All other parts such as wheel bearings, and axel I was able to switch over to new wheel.
Most likely the triple clamps are bent, pretty common when forks get bent and/or wheel bent/broken.
Did you have any trouble at all sliding the fork legs into the triples?
you shattered a front wheel and didnt replace the front axle?
It was not hard at all to slide the tubes through the triple clamps. All was very easy. As far as the axle, it is a solid piece of steel and has no bed to it at all. No need to replace as it is not damaged as I rolled it on a flat surface.
In any case, today, I am going to align my forks again. Perhaps I tightened up the fork clamps bolts to much or there is to much tension some place.
Are you sure you have the same amount of fork leg below the triples?
assuming your forks are aligned properly, and that your triples are straight (cast triples useually snap rather than bend)
the only thing it could be is the front axle/bearings. as those are the largest determining factor in how a wheel lays when bolted in, and are the only items re-used after the wreck, I Am pretty skeptical that they are not the problem.
I mean, even if the forks weren't even, or the triples were bent, a true axle would either physically not fit or would correct measurement errors.
also, as a general rule you, never re-use wheel bearings when swapping from good wheel to good wheel, let alone ones that have seen an apparently catastrophic impact. the things are like 20$, why risk it?
Well after taking everything apart, I found out that it was the lower triple tree. It had a slight bend in it just enough to throw it all out of waco. Now I am just trying to tighten up that front wheel. As soon as I fix a problem, another one exists. As soon as I tighten down the axel to 60ft lbs of torque, The wheel does not want to spin freely anymore. I don't have the clamp bolts tightened either. is that the incorrect torque spec as that is what I read. Your though would be awesome.
If the lower triple is bent, then it's not prudent to spend time on any of the other stuff until you replace it with a straight one.
I made that last positing because I have already replaced the lower triple. When i bough my replacement forks, they came with it. It was just easier for me to replace the tubes than the upper and lower. After I found that it was my lower triple that was bent, I replaced it yesterday. Now, the front wheel sits straight. The only problem I have now is when I torque down the front axel, the front wheel does not want to move with out me forcing it. Any thoughts? The torque spec I used was 60 ft lbs.
how much torque to the pinch screws? is about 10Nm
speedo drive interference or not siting correctly? there's not too many ways to get that problem.
