I am due new front pads on my S2R1000
I am running Braking STX front rotors .
I don't track the bike don't take a pillion or have the bike loaded with luggage.
Just normal road riding with the occasional spirited twisties and one tour a year.
I almost never ride in the wet .
The rotors are starting to get slightly grooved with the hint of a lip on the outside edge.
Should they be machined like you do to a car ?
I am after a bit more bite but don't want to shag the rotors .
What compound would the brainstrust recommend and reasons .
Sintered full or partial.
Organic
Ceramic
Thanks [thumbsup]
I personally use EBC's sintered pads, braking distances even with the old OEM rotors was shortened and haven't had issues when riding in a more "spirited" way

So far you have three responses with three different answers. Personal preference counts heavily.
This guide should help you:

If your discs are not stainless you do not want to use sintered metallic.
A little grooving is not a big deal, the pads will conform to the disc and you end up with more surface area!
