I ordered a new set of brake lines for my monster from Spigler. Well, as is par for the course for me when doing anything it seems like, I screwed up the lengths when ordering (didn't subtract the lengths of the fittings on the end, and the "T" in the middle of the lines), so the lines are too long. Is this a send-the-lines-back-to-spiegler screwup, or can I shorten the cables myself, and reattach the fittings? Are these threaded, or "clamped" fittings?
Better to be a little long than a little short. Sounds like you're only talking about an inch or two? You don't want the lines so long that they rub or catch or look goofy, but a little extra length shouldn't be a problem. Did you test fit? The Spiegler fittings are crimped on, so they'd need to either make up new lines or cut off the ends and attach new fittings to shorten.

I figured I'd have to send them back to Spiegler. They're more than an inch too long.

And thats with the forks fully extended. They could stand to have 3 or 4 inches taken off. Back to Spiegler they go!
Measure twice, cut once. But yeah, compensating for the connections can be a gotcha.
My later monster has the T behind/above the headlight bucket and two lines route in front of the lower triple clamp. Also Spiegler lines (with SBK calipers).
