Title: question regarding fuel tank swap 2002 M750ie Post by: dansamp on August 07, 2014, 02:34:34 AM my tank is leaking and I have not found someone to repair it so I need to replace it

Under tank sheetmetal around the battery: 2000 to 2001 2V bikes: Same. BUT: 2002 to 2005 (last of the steel tanks): Different. In 2002 when the battery got moved from it's old vertical position to the horizontal position above the vertical cylinder head, it necessitated a change in the sheet metal for the lower tank stamping. They will NOT interchange w/o battery relocation, possible wiring changes and maybe even an airbox change (if that's possible). Did they go to the horizontal mounted battery? Yes and it was a horizontal battery. 1 year only w/the 5.9ecu and 750 motor.
