Title: Good experience at the Motor Cafe, Sunnyvale Post by: goog on August 11, 2014, 10:53:13 PM I have been on moto excursion from AZ to Cali for the past week and trying to get in all the riding I can in the cool weather. My 8 month old battery was no longer reliably starting the bike. I told them that it was demo bike when I got it, and it had 4 miles on it, then it sat for about 3-4 months. John at the Motor Cafe said they would see what they could do. Turns out the battery was only at 4% remaining. Not sure what that means, but assumed that it had depleted the chemicals needed to hold a charge to that level. He said that this was quite unusual for such a new bike. Long and short, I had it towed to the shop on Ducati's dime, and they replaced the battery under warranty. Stoked to have a new battery that is brand new, for nothing out of pocket. The service was excellent, they gave me no run around, and really stood by the warranty. This is what I hoped for buying a Duc, and was pleased with the result. Just giving a plug for other Silicon Valley riders.

Title: Re: Post by: goog on August 14, 2014, 06:48:54 PM I was surprised too. I only had the problem when it sat overnight. When I stopped for 30-45 minutes, it started right up. The Batt reading was 12.2 - 11.9 but still started. With the new battery I am seeing 12.4 - 12.6. Anyhow, I have a new battery and it didn't cost me a dime. They said that they checked the charging system, and it all checked out. As soon as the motor was running I would see 13.9 - 14.2
