Hi,
anyone know if this will work? are the external dimensions the same or is the 1098 hub larger? I know axle sizes differ.
thanks

;D
yes, but this is a more specific question. I need to know external dimensions of the 1100 hub to see if the 1098 model will fit. The diagrams in the other thread show different part numbers, but presumably that's because the axle dimensions differ.
anyone help here please?
Try looking at it this way:
Check to see if the M1100 hub and 848 hub are the same part #.
Check to see if the 848 and 1098 swingarm are the same part #.
If yes and yes, then the only outlying question is: Are there other parts which would require swapping to make this work?
My guess is yes, they will interchange but I've NEVER done it.
thanks Duck,
the part numbers vary, but I'm fairly sure now they're different diameters. From what I gather, 848/1098 hub is 112mm, and the M1100/hyper is 105mm, so think this is dead in the water, unless anyone has a brainstorm [bang]
ok, todays question - would it be feasible to machine 3.5-4mm off the wall thickness of a 1098/SBK hub. This would then get it down to 105mm, or is this just bonkers?

No idea, but some of the coolest mods started out as bonkers ideas...
