I'm going to fit a oil cooler to my skinny 2007 695 I have a cooler and lines from a S2R 800 and a valve cover with mount from a 750 I haven't had a chance to fit it yet so don't know what I'm in for Is this a popular mod as I haven't seen it much? Is it really as easy as I think it is? Any input would be great! Thanks! And you'll need the bypass plate that goes under the oil filter fitting. Does that valve cover have the oil temp fitting in it? Like the one on the intake side of your horizontal cylinder? Reason being is that the 6 sided stud is very short in that dimension and if the socket has a lot of end-taper on it...then you'll round out that double-ended stud. Which is not pleasant.

I had the same concern about oil when I did the oil cooler mod to my 695. I couldn't tell if I needed more after I did the mod. When changing the oil I use the sight glass to gauge if I need more oil or less. I'm glad I did add the oil cooler, the oil temp readings are certainly lower after the installation.
