2009 ducati monster 1100 (dry clutch)
. Im only at 12k.. and i need a second clutch job already???
What are you guys with 2009 getting? Has anyone had to replace anywhere as frequesnt as mine?
Any feedback or tips.. im freaking baffled by this?!?!?
Does the clutch slip or grab for example?
its beginning to slip again. I assume this means new clutch?
What brand of clutch plates are you putting in ?
I have had no luck with Barnett's [thumbsdown] cheap and not cheerful always squawking .
This is the last one I will ever buy , I take out the plates often and abrade the glazing , put them back in
and after a week they squawk again [bang]

What kind of riding are you doing?
What clutch springs you using? Rusty weak springs? It might be worth checking your lever adjustment too.
Riding technique/style can have a big effect too. I slip the clutch a lot in slow speed moves.
LL is right about where you ride and what conditions e.g. commuting in heavy city traffic, wheelies, hard take offs and track days, etc.
Some have had bad experiences with Barnett clutch packs, but I've never had an issue with their friction material. I have found the friction plate tangs get hammered well before the friction material gets worn. I have had no clutch groaning with Barnett plates, but groaning clutch on take off with oem alloy plates, go figure.

I don't know. the dealer did it last time? im one of those noobs.. I have o idea how to do a clutch swap.

commuting, to and from work. all city driving. stop and go.. etc. but still.. only 6k ??
Be good to see under the clutch cover. It comes off quite easily.

yes at least 50% of the times at a stoplight I'd say that I have the clutch pulled in.
Since you got poor mileage out of the first clutch pack I would suspect either you have insufficient clutch lever free play or riding style/conditions. Your free play should be 1.5-2mm. at the lever. Err on the side of too much. An overfull fluid reservoir can cause this too. And koko is correct about weak clutch springs. The repair manual will give you a length and they should be straight and square.
crack the bleeder on the slave and see if any fluid pushes out. tighten it up again and go for a ride to see if it stops slipping. wash the fluid off with water first.

ive had an overon slave and asv levers installed. I have 0 freeplay! is this the culprit?

Thank you, ill try this. Can you give me some tips on doing this on an oberon slave uni?

Yes. If it slipped long enough your clutch may need replacement.
