Title: remove m750 swing arm bearings and inners clips /seals
Post by: jerryz on October 03, 2014, 01:44:34 PM
Swing arm bearings on my year 2000 monster 750 are all shot and rusted even after regular regreasing ,, they wont pull out with heat and a blind bearing puller , and there seems to be a inner crackcase lip in front of the inner seals and clips which makes me reluctant to bash them out with a drift , the pivot pin has cleaned up ok but has a few thou of wear whenre the bearings rusted , swing arm has gone off to be powder coated

any ideas welcome

From the parts diagram the snap ring looks like it's to prevent the bearings/seals from going in the case too far.

I say beat them out with a long drift from the other side.

i have had a very close look there is no access at all to drift out the bearings as there is a 4mm high 5mm thick casting lip that the inner snap ring and seal rest against ,,hitting that will crack the case s

so it looks like  dremel is only solution to get the bearings out

done it with the dremel on right  side then  able to use blind bearing puller to get remains out , then with more access  left hand side easily drift out ....  all cleaned up and ready for new bearings  seals etc as soon as swing arm comes back from powder coating
