Title: Issue with me s2r not starting
Post by: djomlas on October 10, 2014, 07:26:46 PM
Pretty weird
Ran fine yesterday's, today nothing
Nada
Battery fully charged and starts my other ducati, so I ruled that out
I turn the key, fuel pump primes, press start button and it's all silence.
One thing I noticedm is I f i press the high beam button, all the lights on gauges turn on, or off, weird.
What might be happening here?
Checked all fuses on brake side, and they are all fine.
But I don't get it to even try turning over at all.
Has new plugs as well

I'll assume it is in neutral . . . if so, then test if starter motor turns connected directly to a battery . . . if it does then, check voltage at solenoid . ..  thread posted in tech on how to . ..  if checks OK, disconnect clutch micro-switch and "bridge" the wires and try to start . . . if it starts, then micro-switch . .. if it doesn't then unplug sidestand and by pass it . . . sorry for giving you such instructions, but, I am a little tired at this time and basically gave you the procedure my tech manager gave me a few months ago . . .

Battery starts another bike, same battery can't light the high beam and keep the gauges lit?  Check your grounds.

it actually ended up being the ring antenna in the key cover, i moved it up closer to the key and it worked, slid a little down, and it didn't work.
so i actually put it as close to the top as i could and zip tied it so it doesn't move.
should be it. tried a few more times and starts up every time.

the thing is, when i press the high beam button, the light for high beam turns on, as well as turn signal light and low fuel light, all at the same time.
turn it off, and all 3 lights go off.
any idea for that?
