Title: Brembo rear caliper for ST2
Post by: d3vi@nt on October 19, 2014, 10:36:33 AM
I've read that the 34mm caliper from the ST3/ST4s is an OK upgrade over the stock 32mm caliper on the ST2.

I've been searching the parts catalog, and from what I can tell the caliper holder plate is the same part across the models that I've found (but then so is the caliper itself  ??? ).

Does anyone know if the 34mm caliper is a direct bolt-on and should it work with the stock master cyclinder?

Ok, I found the schematics on Brembo's site.  All dimensions are identical, except, of course the piston.

Anyone's thoughts as to whether a 2mm larger piston would feel noticeably different?

It might actually make it useable.

My biggest complaint about Ducati rear brakes is they either don't work, or work too well, causing lock up.

The larger piston should allow better modulation...IMO.

The result will be less application force (foot pressure) with greater lever travel.  Better? opinion.

The rear brake on my s4 can lock the rear easily have to be careful with it

but the rear brake on my 750ss and M750 are much weaker even when fully bled and clean with fresh pads  but they are good enough

Thanks, gents.  I'll grab a used one if/when I find one to see what I think.  My biggest gripe is lack of feedback, even after replacing the pads with Ferodo Platinums and upgrading to SS lines.
