[drool] Sachs Skyhook . . . tft dash . . . separate hazard lights button "Skyhook" sounds a bit gimmicky but Don Canet of Cycle World magazine was 3rd quickest up the hill at Pikes's Peak this year on stock Sachs Skyhook suspension, an entire second better than his Spyder Grips teammate Micky Dymond who was running full Ohlins set up by Race Tech. This was Don's first time at Pike's and the footage makes me so nervous, I'm hoping that he doesn't get a wild hair to go back next year and win the damn thing... footage: http://www.cycleworld.com/videos/featured_videos/don_canet_s_on-board_pov_video_of_his_pikes_peak_hill_climb_debut/?siteaction=ContactUs#ooid=k0d3NvbjpfUxiDVBXz1JR5ZszrfsQxms (http://www.cycleworld.com/videos/featured_videos/don_canet_s_on-board_pov_video_of_his_pikes_peak_hill_climb_debut/?siteaction=ContactUs#ooid=k0d3NvbjpfUxiDVBXz1JR5ZszrfsQxms) article: http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/08/22/2014-pikes-peak-international-hill-climb-race-perspective-by-road-test-editor-don-canet/ (http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/08/22/2014-pikes-peak-international-hill-climb-race-perspective-by-road-test-editor-don-canet/) Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: The Don on October 23, 2014, 09:39:56 PM Desmodromic variable timing explained http://www.bikesales.com.au/content/news/2014/Desmodromic-variable-timing-explained-46836 (http://www.bikesales.com.au/content/news/2014/Desmodromic-variable-timing-explained-46836) Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: DarkMonster620 on October 24, 2014, 03:21:19 PM Here,

Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: SDRider on November 06, 2014, 08:21:33 PM I think it looks pretty good.
(http://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/2015-Ducati-Multistrada-1200-02.jpg) Coincidentally, I have a 2014 Multistrada demo in my garage right now. I dropped my bike off to have the dealer check a couple things and they let me borrow their demo bike until tomorrow. I swear, every time I ride this bike I love it more and more. So comfortable, so powerful, so easy to ride, so nimble. It just does everything well. I could ride this bike for hours. Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: Triple J on November 06, 2014, 08:43:39 PM Even uglier than before, if that was possible.
Nice bike though. Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: red baron on November 06, 2014, 08:49:49 PM Looks like this guy.

(I doubt it. ;D ) The Multi is ugly, but there's no substitute for easing up on a bike's looks by riding one. My wife had the Multi 1000DS and I've wanted one ever since -- no matter how ugly it is. No kidding. It really is a great bike no matter what it looks like. Really looking forward to riding this in to work today. I rode this home from the dealer in the dark last night on the 15 freeway in San Diego. You sit so high up on this bike with a commanding view of the road, the light is so much brighter than my Monster too and it just turns so easily. It is very nimble for a bike this size and it feels very light when you ride it once you are under way. And the riding position is so comfortable, my bike is a freaking torture rack in comparison. (http://i58.tinypic.com/2rqnm6v.jpg) Never has my 35 mile commute been looked forward to so much. [Dolph] [thumbsup] BTW-I have to give a big thank you to Balz at Moto Forza for being so generous with the demo bikes. I'll definitely buy my next Ducati from him and it may just be a Multistrada. Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: Skybarney on November 07, 2014, 10:41:05 AM I spent a week on a Multi and seriously considered trading in my Monster for one earlier this year. Luckily to much money in mods made it a bad deal. Why luckily?
I think Ducati is gonna get it's Multi-ass handed to it by the new BMW. Hell, they even look similar. Then there is the Aprilia Colnago looks to be a better bike for several thousand less.... Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: Triple J on November 07, 2014, 10:53:17 AM Then there is the Aprilia Colnago looks to be a better bike for several thousand less.... You mean Aprilia Caponord? I've done an extended test ride on both the Caponord and the MTS. IMO, the Capo was the better bike. They're both very good though, and if power is what you want the MTS wins. If a more balanced package is what you want then the Capo wins. Then there is the Aprilia Colnago looks to be a better bike for several thousand less.... Man, I'd love to spend a week on one. It would be the perfect bike for long distance riding. I don't know, this looks like a copy of the Multistrada to me and the new Multi seems a little more feature rich than this BMW. That inline 4 will probably feel a lot wider between your legs than the Multistrada too and probably almost as pricey. http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/11/05/2015-bmw-s1000xr-sport-touring-motorcycle-review-first-look-photos-eicma-2014/ (http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/11/05/2015-bmw-s1000xr-sport-touring-motorcycle-review-first-look-photos-eicma-2014/) I'm kind of intrigued by the Yamaha FJ-09. They both look very similar to the Multistrada. Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: DM426 on November 07, 2014, 01:42:00 PM It looks huge in person. I'm afraid if I test ride it I'll want one, and it IS kind of ugly.

Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: SDRider on November 18, 2014, 09:49:43 AM Saw it at the Long Beach International Motorcycle show on Sunday. Too many people around it for me to get a decent picture of and they had it up on a pedestal so you couldn't throw a leg over it either.
I want it! I rode my Monster 1100 EVO up there from San Diego. Weather was nice but it was a bit windy and the lack of wind protection on my bike was quite noticeable. I was wore out and couldn't wait to get off the bike by the time I got home. Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: DarkMonster620 on November 27, 2014, 06:35:35 AM Hello,

I'm seriously considering trading in my Monster for this bike...
Title: Re: 2015 MTS1200 Post by: Skybarney on November 27, 2014, 10:39:35 PM Just do it. You know you want to and 3k under sounds fair. Of course it all comes down to hard hard your shorts are going to bleed when you hear the trade in value of your bike.
