Title: Need a comfy seat. What to do? Post by: Fudge on October 23, 2014, 02:25:50 AM Hi all, need some advice regarding seats. Im after some more comfort for my ageing fat arse. Do i buy corbin, sergeant or any other recommendations. OR, do i send my spare seat to the trimmers? I need comfort but still need to be able to move off the bike at the track. Any ideas or help is much appreciated. Cheers.

I have a sargent seat on my S2R your welcome to try it to compare to your OEM. It runs wider ,flater and harder and its sweet spot is slightly further back so good if you have long ape arms like yourself [cheeky] It also is easy to get off on in the corners due to its exaggerated chamfered sides BUT hard to find now and new your looking at $400 [puke] It has heaps of storage under , enough for tyre repair kit and some tools. The Corbin is probably a better seat but has no storage, none, zilch [thumbsdown] I have sat on the DP comfort gel seat , very cumfy but the owner told me its sucks in summer if you park in the sun as it retains heat. 695 OEM seat may be an option it is the lowest seat that will fit first gen Monster , very dished out I had one as spair but its gone too the wreckers on the old RIP 695 . Dez p.s. see you out at the track next month [thumbsup] Title: Re: Need a comfy seat. What to do? Post by: Fudge on October 24, 2014, 05:45:11 PM Thanks Dez. Thanks for the feedback. Can you bring your sergeant to next track day for me to try? If i cant buy one maybe a trimmer can duplicate/copy it. Hadn't considered storage. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I do like having a few tools and spares with me.
Ive got 2 oem seats that i probably should just have modified to suit ME and my riding style. Although, no matter what i do i dont think ill ever fit comfortably on monster. Shes in for belts and valves at the moment. Then off to Terry Hay for suspension service and set up. Then off to tuneboy to have velocity stacks and power commander fitted (all came with bike when i bought it). I also have a lightened flywheel. But have been told it will compromise low to mid and only be beneficial at high rpm. Im all about low to mid so will leave it off. Looking forward to November and heaps of double sessions. Thanks again, Fudge. Paul and yourself should bring the monsters on the 1st December. There will be quite a contingent of ducatis. Title: Re: Need a comfy seat. What to do?
