Worse than expensive.  A whole lotta cars will be waiting for them.  At least one manufacturer has told the owners not to ride with  a passenger in the front seat until the replacement (not in stock) part is installed.

The issue involves defective inflator and propellent devices that may deploy improperly in the event of a crash, shooting metal fragments into vehicle occupants.

Allegations that Honda has known of the problem for a decade:

Bad time to be a company spokesman at Honda.

How much more carefully will we drive with the small possibility that a claymore will go off in our faces if we are in an accident?

Given that my girl has a defective GM ignition that she has been trying to get fixed under recall for six months now I would not hold my breath about this issue getting fixed anytime soon.

Mate that's seriously dodgy. Imagine getting hit by shrapnel like that?

The cover up is just disgraceful too.
