Title: Electrical troubleshooting :( S2R
Post by: factorPlayer on October 25, 2014, 06:14:52 PM
I had just resoldered the wiring for an integrated tail light and everything tested fine.  Then right before I was going to put the seat back on I think something shorted somewhere and now I've got nothing but the brake light.  No instruments, headlight, tail light or ignition.  But the brake light still works  ???

Checked fuses  - all good

Looks like I'll finally get to unfold that electrical diagram in the back of the manual now...

The tail light wire can short to various bits back there.  The fuse is blown, but if you didn't pull it to check it might still look good.  This has happened to me while riding...

I did pull them to check but the lighting wasn't the best... Do you know which fuse it is?

Counting from the 30A fuse as the top, it is fuse #6.  Should be 15A.

a fuse can look good and still be bad, best to double check with multimeter
