Title: Front tire removal with ABS
Post by: mdgore on October 30, 2014, 03:18:37 PM
2014 796 abs.  The front tire looks like it would hit the ABS sensor if I just pulled it like a normal tire, not to mention the ABS cable running with the brake line.  Do I need to remove the ABS line/sensor from the left shock to remove the front wheel?  Or is there some trick to getting the wheel/tire off without having to remove it?  Thanks.

Thanks, but taking the calipers off was harder than I thought.  I had to pull them towards me because they wouldn't clear the rotor and rim without doing so.  After that, the tire was easy to remove.  I just didn't want to get into something and then have to jump through hoops to save the procedure.   Also, the Monster has pinch bolts on both fork legs, so be sure to loosen all four on both sides.  Or do what I did and just remove them before putting it up on the stands, along with loosening the caliper bolts and the axle nut.
