Title: 300+ horsepower Bienville Legacy and the return of American master craftsman Post by: Skybarney on November 11, 2014, 06:25:01 AM The Craftsman may have returned but the designer never showed up. [puke]
On face value, the Bienville Legacy is a weird, vastly overpowered and visually shocking motorbike with a completely unique suspension system. But to the team that created it and the eccentric entrepreneur that bankrolled it, it's not just a motorcycle. It's a two-wheeled expression of blue-sky design, the realization of an idea unhindered by commercial realities – and the start of a movement that aims to celebrate and re-invigorate the idea of master craftsmanship in America. This has no focus. Plus I'm a hater and have never been a fan of any of his bikes. Fabulously Wealthy but Confused Patron Hires Artist to Burn Through a Trainload of Cash. Mr. Jacoby has a noble and worthy goal, "to revitalize the concept of master craftsmanship in American design. " But his plan on how to do it is totally off the rails on the crazy train. Title: Re: 300+ horsepower Bienville Legacy and the return of American master craftsman Post by: Howie on November 11, 2014, 12:37:30 PM I think the "unique" they are talking about is the leaf spring running from front to rear under your crotch. Craft might be plenty, but aesthetics? I'm speechless.

The design makes perfect sense though if you are used to looking at modern art [puke] Title: Re: 300+ horsepower Bienville Legacy and the return of American master craftsman Post by: red baron on November 11, 2014, 07:35:38 PM Just park in next to the Nautilus, nobody will even notice it.

Yes, that is the baby Block from Motus. The design makes perfect sense though if you are used to looking at modern art [puke] Yes it ran at Bonneville. Yes, it wins the award for uglier than a Diavel. Yes, lunatics built it. Yes, it is ugly. Yes, some guy got sponsored by some rich numbskull to build something wild. Yes, said rich numbskull should have picked Flightcycles. ;) The only thing I like about it is the fact of funny suspension, I remain skeptical that this implementation has any benefits over any other version of suspension. :P Title: Re: 300+ horsepower Bienville Legacy and the return of American master craftsman Post by: Speeddog on November 12, 2014, 11:20:55 PM Yeah, all true.
So much for the truth setting you free. :( Unfortunately, pretty much a spring is a spring is a spring is a spring..... Leaf spring is rare on motos, but not unheard of.
