Title: S2r 1k exhaust idea.
Post by: cody_clark on November 30, 2014, 09:28:49 AM
So I've been trying to get a custom exhaust with no luck. Nobody around me wants to touch my monster. So I've had an idea. Has anyone taken a marving midpipe and welded a 2-1 muffler that terminates right at the back wheel? I want to show off the SSA. If so what muffler did you use. Any help or comments on why this wouldn't would would be appreciated.

How would talking about Monster mods bother us  ;D

"Any" large'ish single can would work as long as it has a large enough intake to not strangle the flow, I think....

Then you just need a 2-1 joint and maybe StradaFab could do that easily?

Hi there,  Thats exactly what i am in the middle of right now with my S2R 800.  Custom 2 into 1 ending at the base of the rear wheel.  I crashed the bike last year and damaged one of my Termignoni cans so the official Ducati mechanic in Malaga Spain has cut the damaged can in half and is in the middle of welding the pipes as we speak. Ill post pics when i get the bike back later this week.

Haha well I just don't want to make yall think I'm annoying for starting all these threads. But have you seen the radical ducati bikes. I like their megaphone exhaust something of that design. Anything come to mind?

That one is completely sick. I love it tucked up under like that. High and tight.

So I contacted randy at strata fab and I asked if he could do the 2-1 connector on the marving midpipe and he said he would be able to do it for me :) thanks for the suggestion. Great idea!

Here's one I did a couple years ago...

I modified a HyperMotard1100 DP system to re-angle the muffler with the Monster frame tubing.

I'm really starting to like the exbox. At least then my heels wouldn't burn up and I'd stop having little bits of burned rubber on the pipes. But they're silver. jet hot coated black might just make me happy, and half the price.
