Title: Need help hauling bike from DC to DucPond
Post by: booger on July 13, 2008, 12:29:09 PM
All- if there is someone in the DC area with a truck/van going out to DucPond anytime before or around the end of the month and can haul an extra bike I'd be more than happy to chip in for the fuel and buy you lunch or a twelve pack or whatever. I enquired about motorcycle towing services and was quoted $375 to haul a bike from DC to Winchester. It's a long way I know but I have trouble with 375 when the actual repair work needed on my bike will run almost 1k. Thanks

My M900 is out there for a 30K service, if things go according to plan it should be ready next week, so I would be going out there on 7/25. If you do not hookup with Charlie let me know, I can haul one bike on the back of my F-150. On the other hand if Charlie and others need a lift we could hookup my trailer and I could haul 3 bikes, split the gas and buy me lunch. I would need help getting the trailer out of my storage unit. - Gene

Gene,

Can I catch a ride back with you?  I need to take my bike in and drop it off for the maintenance service so I would be riding it out there and meeting you at Ducpond at whatever time is good for you.  I'll split the gas and buy your lunch if you drop me back in Gainesville (I live 3 miles off I-66).

Let me know,

Thanks.

Scott

Possibility, let's see how all this goes my truck carries four adults so should easily have room for you on the return trip. - Gene

Tim,

Thanks but I cannot take you up on your gracious offer because of timing; Ducpond is too busy to service my bike prior to 7/26, and I would rather not drop off the bike 10 days early and not sure they would accept it that early anyhow.

Thanks.

Scott

Gene- very kind of you to offer, and I'll likely need to take you up on it if Charlie can't do it somehow. The 25th should be fine as Jason told me to bring the bike in around the end of the month. I'll let you know a couple of days before you head out. Thanks - Dustin

Gene - I am out now, Ducpond cannot accommodate me until the 5th of August so now I will be looking for rides in a few weeks time vs your timing.

Thanks.

Dana, please contact me if you are still interested, Dustin needs a lift, so if you need one I need to know as I will have to hookup my trailer. - Gene

To piggy back off this thread...

I have my Monster at DucPond too, and it needs to come home asap to avoid storage fees since it looks like it will be a little wile before I see any insurance $ and can fix it.

It would be a HUGE favor I know, but if anyone was still going to DucPond this week or next and had room to bring back my bike to DC I would be very grateful!!

I am pretty poor right now, but I could try to send some gas money and a six pack someones way...

Have you talked to Duc Pond? I keep my trailer in my Storage Unit, it is a bit of work to get it out and I cannot do it alone. Right now I'm picking up Dustin and his bike in my truck, taking it out to Duc Pond for service and picking up my M900. Rather than drag my trailer out I could ride the M900 and have him drive my truck back. Do you want to store it in my storage unit for awhile at no charge? How long? You can conribute some gas money when you have it, no problem. - Gene

My Monster service is done, so I plan to go out there this Saturday to pick it up (16 foot trailer with 1 bike).  I'm dropping my bike off in Purcellville, but I can bring somebody else's bike back to Arlington/DC if that'll help anyone.

I got nothing else to do, GF is getting a mani-pedi Saturday, and I'm gonna avoid that experience.

Bummer, Purceville is on my way back  I could have done it Friday for you. - Gene
