Title: New 750ie! Post by: Empower5 on February 01, 2015, 07:32:42 AM Thanks to everyone who provided advice in last week's thread. I did wind up buying that Senna 750ie. (As if there was any doubt!) Here's a couple pics from the ride home. Having a few small issues: low fuel light/warning stays on, idling a tad high, no speedo atm, but nothing major. Can't wait for some warmer weather so I can ride!

Never got it fixed and don't miss it.
Just curious: where is it idling at? Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: Howie on February 01, 2015, 01:08:35 PM Your bike idle speed should be 11-1300 RPM. As far as the low fuel light goes, as stated by 1.21GW, shouldn't be relied on. Find out what your normal range is on a tank of fuel and fill up comfortably shy of that. To do a basic diagnosis on the fuel light, lift tank, disconnect connector to sensor. turn key on. light off? Sensor. Light still on? Wiring or problem inside cluster. Fix it or not? Up to you.
Bike looks good. Enjoy [Dolph] Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: koko64 on February 01, 2015, 02:56:39 PM Nice bike. Should run better than the carbed model from what I hear.
Title: Re: Post by: 1.21GW on February 01, 2015, 04:01:09 PM Stupid, but worth checking if you're new to these monsters:
Make sure the cold start/ fuel injection choke dial is turned ALL the way down. Otherwise it will idle high. Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: DarkMonster620 on February 01, 2015, 04:25:16 PM Nice bike . .. as 1.21GW said, check the cable, if it is "too snug" it might be causing your high idle
Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: red baron on February 01, 2015, 08:20:12 PM How did those reflectors last this long??? >:(
Congrats. [thumbsup] Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: Empower5 on February 02, 2015, 04:27:50 AM Thanks yall- I was messing with the dial before it started, then closed it again. So maybe the cable is tight. Will check it out.
The fuel light/warning is a very minor annoyance and I will probably disable it, it's not like I need it! Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: the_Journeyman on February 02, 2015, 06:02:33 AM Congrats! I've got a 750 and have really enjoyed it for over a decade now! I love that Senna color scheme, one of my favorites!

Post by: Empower5 on February 03, 2015, 06:44:34 AM Nice! I do need to find some Duc riders in the Atlanta area to ride with.
Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: silas on February 03, 2015, 07:28:20 AM I can help w/ that. Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: Empower5 on February 03, 2015, 07:55:23 AM Nice- are you in the area? I'm in Gwinnett (East Atlanta). Looking forward to riding in North GA.
Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: silas on February 03, 2015, 09:38:05 AM East Atlanta is somewhere else to me (an Intown neighborhood, not Gwinnett Co.).
Yes, I'm near you @ spaghetti junction & know a lot of intown duck riders. Email me & I'll let ya know about some weekly events/ groups around town. Congrats again. Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: duccarlos on February 03, 2015, 09:54:37 AM Silas, I would recommend that you modify your post to not include your email. Unfortunately the interwebz bots are constantly trolling for emails. Send it by PM instead.
Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: the_Journeyman on February 10, 2015, 03:44:56 PM If you get a little more adventurous that North GA, as in Western NC and Upstate SC, shoot me a PM. When I get out, it's not uncommon for me head into areas as far south as Helen, GA and Walhalla SC.

The riding around Suches doesn't get any better!!! http://twowheelsofsuches.com/ (http://twowheelsofsuches.com/) Title: Re: New 750ie! I was very sad to hear that it closed, but it sounds like it's back up and running! This was THE place to stop when riding up in the GA mountains. Title: Re: New 750ie! Yes-let's plan a DMF ride up there. TWO is now TWOs and as always a great spot to start from. 348 (Richard BRussell) Wolf Pen Gap is my favorite road, N of Vogel State Park just off 180. 180-129-180-348-15 to Helen. Excellent ride from Suches to Helen. Had an adolescent black bear cross the road in front of me on 348 last summer. Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: the_Journeyman on February 11, 2015, 06:53:56 PM If we have some good weather prior to May, I'll make it a point to head that way as much as possible. I've got a boy arriving right about the beginning of May, so I'll be spending a lot of time at home for most of May and June. C and I do a lot to support each other, so I can still manage a day out here and there, just not many. I would still enjoy meeting up some DMFers, met a few in the past and have had nothing but an awesome time.

Title: Re: New 750ie! Post by: Empower5 on February 16, 2015, 09:43:31 AM That would be awesome guys. Let's definitely plan a ride as soon as the weather gets good. Damn ice down here all week although I did get some riding in on Saturday :)
