Hi everyone,
My 30,000Km service is coming up and I wanted to ask, besides the recommendations in the user manual, what are the recommended part replacements to make based on your experience?
My bike has been a perfect machine - I bought it new back in April 2005. It has never left me stranded (except at home a couple of times one for a rectifier problem and the other due to a faulty relay).
I have been thinking about replacing:
- water and fuel hoses
- ground cables
- chain and sprockets (last changed at 15K)
On the other hand, "If ain't broke don't fix it" can be another route....
Comments will be appreciated
Thanks

I suggest you clean that thing first. It looks filthy. [cheeky]
If your shop does not include this in the price:
Change brake and clutch fluid once a year.
Change fork oil, I do this every two years once there is a good synthetic in them.
Check head and wheel bearings
Unless you are planning on upgrading starter and ground wires, just check connections. Voltage drop ts the best way.
Water and fuel hoses? Not a bad idea. Make sure you use SAE 30R10 rated fuel hose.
As far as the chain and sprockets go, unless you want to change gearing, check condition. O rings intact? Links free? Teeth look good? Adjustment been holding up? If you do the chain and sprockets consider a quick change carrier. This will save you time and money in the long run.
It's good to check your mesh filter. It will give you insight if something is failing. Add that to your list to inspect and clean.
