Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has had experience dealing with this issue before. I would love to diagnose the issue/fix it myself before going to the dealer.
Today on the highway, my 2006 S2R 1000 lost power at around ~5000RPM in the 6th gear. When I throttle. the bike barely accelerates but the RPMs shoot up really fast (as if I was at neutral). This issue seems to only occur in the 6th gear, all other gears at high RPM seem to accelerate as normal.
I have read that it could a fuel line/fuel filter issue or a digital issue regarding my TPS/ECU.
Has anyone had experience dealing with this before?
Also, I had just recently discovered a small oil leak on the engine case. Is it possible this leakage is affect my power loss issue?
Any advice/information is appreciated! Thanks!

Revs climbing without a normal increase in road speed is a sign of your clutch slipping.
The first gear to usually experience clutch slip is sixth gear. Lug the motor in fifth and I bet the same thing will happen
+1 to clutch slippage. Happened to me in 6th gear. Was passing some vehicles when suddenly revs shot up and barely accelerated. After getting home, I pulled the clutch to find one of the friction plates had NO friction material left on one of it's sides. Replaced the plate and good as new.
