Title: 2009 M696 fork oil refill - tough question
Post by: alibaba on March 28, 2015, 11:52:55 AM
I just replaced the right fork leg oil seal that was leaking.  I have been advised by two Ducati techs that one can not refill the fork using the volume specified in the manual  (@ 18.2 fl. oz) because there is always oil trapped in the fork that will not drain out.  The correct way is to measure the oil level below the top of the fork.

But no one seems to have this spec.  Can somebody please help?

i've only done 1 fork oil change in the 696, but i measured the oil height with the springs in as i disassembled them and they were 50mm rh and 65mm lh.  so that's what i redid them to.
