Title: M1100 Timing belt Tension Check
Post by: Yogi on March 31, 2015, 02:51:15 AM
Does anyone know for sure if Ducati changed the spec  (140hz) for the timing belt tension check? I heard rumours that this had been dropped to 110hz for installed belts.
This is not the measurement on a newly installed belt its a check on already installed belts.

Manual says 140hz on installation, limit 70hz.

i do the post 2005 1000/1100 belts to 95 - 100, as they tend to get that horrid bearing noise when hot if you go 110 ime.

The Ducati manuals that say 140 hz were printed incorrectly. The dealers were told all belts should be tightened to 110 hz. If you wish to have the same amount of force pulling between the sprockets with our belt as the OEM belts, use 99 hz.
