Title: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Willthedub on April 01, 2015, 06:30:22 AM Has anyone seen a radial calliper adapter for the older monsters?
I can find ones for hyabusas but that's about it. Googles not my friend at the moment, I seem to be riding him more than the bike! [bang] Title: Re: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Rudemouthsky on April 01, 2015, 07:28:56 AM I would think the easiest way would be to do a full SBK front end conversion, which would take care of your radial calipers in the process depending on what you got...you may need a different front wheel depending on the year of your Monster and new rotors... Motowheels has S&P billet fork bottoms that will allow mounting of 100mm radial calipers but it isn't cheap, very impractical unless you have $ invested in upgrading your current forks. There are also used to be brackets available that allow one to go from 40 or 65mm centers to 100mm.

[bang] how a minor detail can have such a big influence!
Those motocorse ones do look slick! Don't think I can justify tho expense though Maybe a custom adapter can be made? Or just suck it up and live with the ones that fit I'm not sure if there is actually much of a difference except the bling! Title: Re: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Rudemouthsky on April 01, 2015, 03:32:43 PM Oh if you want bling, you can get some ISR's that'll go on 65mm centers...they are 4 or 6 piston monoblocks so they oughtta stop a freight train but look bad azz as well.

But I'm in the same boat as you...spent a bunch of cash on new wheels and upgrading fork internals when I should have just rebuilt some SBK gold TiN'd Showas and saved a bunch of cash, plus had a world of wheel and caliper options to boot [bang] Title: Re: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Willthedub on April 02, 2015, 09:42:27 AM Oh Lordy! [drool] [drool] [drool] that is some bling!
I also stayed loyal to Ducati and bought the brembo billet master cylinders , you can't go wrong with them and I like how understated they look (http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah72/willthedub/4E3DE5D9-0C0B-434F-86CC-47EAF88DC0F5_zpssqulkj4q.jpg) And after doing this to my forks (http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah72/willthedub/90EC0097-F9B1-4DA0-9450-DFCA670F3166_zpsauhg3cad.jpg) And this to my wheels (http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah72/willthedub/7FD02903-CA76-4699-A1F9-C074B1DC13F8_zpstex4olke.jpg) (http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah72/willthedub/F8ECA335-150F-4FAF-93D2-10DEDD16DDCF_zps3gqvvjrc.jpg) I'm kicking myself harder than you can imagine! Title: Re: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Rudemouthsky on April 02, 2015, 10:23:14 AM Oh man...those wheels and tires are delicious! [drool] can't wait to see the finished bike! Fukn loooove those tires...
Someone even more irrational than me, that's great to see! [laugh] Title: Re: Radial calliper conversion Post by: Willthedub on April 02, 2015, 11:00:49 AM Can't wait to finish it!
