Hi all from Portugal,

I just got a brand new Ducati Monster 821 and it´s sick :)
But i have a problem and i hope someone here can guide me.

I love the front suspension fork from the 1200s, that gold color is beautiful and i want that in my 821. I have been searching but a new gold fork and is it´s 3000 euros.
So... considering that i´m only interested on the color, is there a way to "transform" my gray fork to that gold color?

Solution 1 - Painting
Solution 2 - Using a "vinyl sticker printing", sorry but i don´t know the translation to english.

What is the best solution? Is there a special material that i can use?

Quite a few people have made their forks black with vinyl.

If you can find a suitable gold color - why not  8)

There is a 3rd solution and probably the most long term one

You take apart the forks and get the tubes re-anodized to what ever color you want. Most forks are type 2 anodized. People will say use type 3 but reality those are the one's that dont understand the anodizing process and its impact on color. You'll never get a type 3 to look good aesthetically and since this is your priority, type 2 is your solution.

Type 2 anodizing and stripping will probably set you back 150 dollars.

Paint will peel when you remove the forks for service in the future. Vinyl will need to be applied again for the same reason as paint

The only one that will last is anodizing. Do it once, do it right. It always works out in the long run. At worst case, you'll need to change the fork oil every 1 1/2 years or so. Wait till then and it will be easier..
