pretty much just removed the emissions canister and the shroud, as well as the fairing. this is how it will be for a while, cause i'm broke as a joke, but it's cleaned up at least.
oh yeah, i took the reflectors and frame stickers off too.

the cb400f project bike
Nice, my first look with tank panels are removed. Thanks [thumbsup]
Looks great. I have done or am going to do many of the things you are doing. I took off the fly screen and prefer that much more. The little plexiglass wind screen would trap garbage and you can't reach to clean it out. I think the red frame with black tank and front fender would look nice too. I have the CF Termis and removed the heat shields. When is the rear fender eliminator kit available?
great mod getting rid of the carbon canister and shroud! [thumbsup]
Looks real good [thumbsup]
Love the old 400 ;D

that shroud was the one thing that bummed me out when i saw it in person; all the pics had been from the euro spec without it. one of the things i love about the naked ducatis is how the engine hangs out of the bottom like it doesn't quite fit in the frame.... you can tell they put an engine on a table and built a bike around it. with the shroud, it didn't have that look.
yeah, the 400s fun, but has a few issues right now. completely rebuilding.
Is that clutch line just hanging out there in all it's glory?

i zip-tied it to one of the cross members of the frame, and to another cable a little further back.... really trying to avoid zipties on the outside of the frame
