Title: Best replacement clutch kit for 696?
Post by: malamikigo on April 28, 2015, 07:42:26 PM
My clutch is slipping big time.  37,000km (23,000mi for you yankees).  I've been searching for alternatives to dealer parts, and I've literally found no other option besides the Barnet clutch kit:

Is there nothing else out there?  OEM or bust?   I gotta figure there's some other alternatives.  I just can't find them.

Just replaced Mrs Dogs 696 wet clutch at 22,000 bit early but maybe the prev owner was hard on it,
I like you searched high and low for a cheaper alternate and was going to go the Barnett but was advised by
Brad Black  (DMF brains trust )not to use them.
I hated the Barnett in my  S2R dry clutch , such a shitty cheap quality squawky piece of fast waring POS
I will never never never buy one again . [bang]
I also heard of the Barnett wets slipping from new from other owners so I went into my local Ducati dealer
and purchased a new OEM , not cheap but she runs like a charm now so happy wife happy life.
With gasket bond and tax it was around $400 Aus reasonably easy DIY instal just a little more fiddle than
a dry , I would recommend it .

Talking like a dealer, purchase OEM; talking like an independent[as I was before], get the OEM part, I have installed a Barnett and an OEM on one M620 and one S2R800, guess which one I did not heard a complaint from? You got it, the OEM one.
