Title: PCV Optimizer Question
Post by: koko64 on May 17, 2015, 11:56:06 PM
Anyone come across the PCV O2 Optimizers that mimic the PCFC units with four tiny adjusting screws? They are the later version which has the connections for both O2 sensors running back to and sharing the same box.
Do the screws do anything and is the unit set at 13.6 AFR, or is it just that the adjusting screws are part of the hardware used by Dynojet to house the optimizers? If the screws work, will they over ride the PCV? I doubt it as the unit appears to only work in the closed loop section. The unit is used with no instructions. I have been checking the Power commander site for instructions.
Cheers.

There is a port on it and also the four tiny screws that the PCFC units use. It seems the unit shares the same housing with the PCFC.

Just to help the conversation, this is a similar pic of the unit koko64 is asking about. The one he has does not have the placard on it. It has the same pots and access with no labels.

I reckon the label/sticker covers the pots on the Optimizer version. Who'll peel it back to take a look? ;D

Thanks O&D. [thumbsup]
It worked with no codes, engine check light, etc. The 13.6 was much smoother too as the oem 14.7 is just as Brad Black has described, ragged. Both versions of Optimizer did not eliminate the exhaust popping but the pipe is a 2 into 1 ending in 54mm leading to the muffler. Only quite rich will stop the popping and the pipe is air tight.

Aww, go on, somebody peel back the sticker and take a look. ;D I bet Dynojet use the same box and the pots are connected to nothing inside.
The PCFC will have different cables with connectors to the injectors and a posi-tap connector to the TPS wire. I fitted one to a Honda cruiser for a customer, so it is a clear difference. The O2 connectors on this unit are a give away that it is correct for Ducatis and an Optimizer.
