Someone probably has... and didn't like it.  Never tried it myself... but I can't see a straight bar being comfy.  It's not how your hands want to sit naturally.

you mean like drag bars?

IIRC there's a clearance issue w/the tank-hand controls at stock riser height... I remember this popping up on TOB

I tried this on my 620 and it was an utter failure. My wrists still haven't forgiven me. I thought I would like the look, but they were just too wide (to accomodate everything) and the position is brutal...

My 2 cents!

FYI that bar just looks straight because of the angle of the pic.

It's still got a few degrees of pullback on it which you can see in the pic if you overlay a straight line on top of the bars.

I'm thinking about getting drag bars or maybe the suburban machinery bars...  I prefer the drag bars because of the price, but I need to cut a mock up on cardboard or something just so I can see how the clearances work...

I do think lower bars on the Monster would work better, but clip ons are too ow, so the flat/drag bars seem to be a the reasonable compromise.

Thats what I think also with clip-ons. I dont understand the term drag bar, is it like on the pic above?

Drag bar - as in drag racing.

Drag bars are usually just a straight hunk of tube.

ive tried "drag bars" before and they do NOT fit.  the ones i used had a little pullback to them, but had no rise.  they fit and looked great until you tried to turn the bars even a little bit.  there was very little room between the bars and the tank when they were straight ahead.

there's a reason they bend bars back. unless (and maybe even if) you're laying on the tank full time I'm willing to bet your wrists are screaming after 20 minutes of riding with straight (drag) bars.

My wrists are all ready hurting after 140km and im with original bars, so maybe its personal fysiology? Thats the reason for this testing.

Are you supporting the majority of your upper torsos weight with your core muscles?  Or are you putting most of that weight on the bars?  If you're not supporting weight with your mid section then you'd either need to do that more, or change your bike to have a more upright riding position - perhaps taller bars.

Straight bars will not have any rise to them, putting you in a more crouched/racy position.  This will increase the amount of your weight that's forward of your hips, and means more need to use your mid section to hold up that weight, so you're not just leaning on the bars.

I'm not saying that different bars are not the solution to your problem - I'm just trying to make sure the root cause of your pain is the configuration, and not something else.

My elbows move free and loose, so I dont have weight on my hands. I have long arms, my postition is upright.
I dont know...

I say try out some clip ons before the straight bar.  you can position and re-position them all day long to find whether this is the issue.  stock bars with long arms shouldn't give pain.  could it be your grip or grips?  maybe your gloves are too thick and you're grabbing harder than you would normally?  is this the first bike you've had this issue with?  if so, what's different?

Ive changed grips allready.
Ive had only forest machines like ktm exc,gs,kawasaki kx and honda xr so nothing to compere with.
Ill try to find cheapo clip ons and piece of tube that i can bend too
