Title: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 18, 2015, 08:07:23 PM Hello all,
I was hoping for some advice, I am going to get my Two Brothers Black Series Powdercoated, this process takes 10 days! yikes! I have my stock exhaust for my Monster 796 2013 but I also have a powercommander 5 with Leo vince exhaust map loaded. Is it okay to run my stock exhaust with the PC5 with Map loaded? Ill take before and after pics, don't worry! Thanks! Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: kopfjäger on June 18, 2015, 08:11:19 PM 10 days yikes??!! Did you think they'd do it overnight for you?
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 18, 2015, 08:21:18 PM I doubt it, Here in Hawaii, Car repairs and other services are slow to get completed. For example, I have my Suzuki that has an Airbag light that just came on. It is covered under warranty but my original date to JUST BRING it in was July 5th, I called back as my wife is 7 Months Pregnant and the Airbag system is disabled when the light is on. I have a sooner date of the 23rd. Still Bull$hi thought. I will file a complaint AFTER the repair is done.

Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 19, 2015, 07:06:19 PM Hey djomlas,
The big deal is there is only ONE map available for a Monster 796 2015, stock filter and Leo Vince exhaust. Lol Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: Grampa on June 19, 2015, 07:31:53 PM Walk.

So drive. Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: EEL on June 20, 2015, 04:09:10 AM short answer.yes.
i would upload the canned map from the site or just leave it as is and run a wee bit rich. Nothing will happen in 10 days. On a side note, do you have the ecu flashed or the o2 optimizers installed? if not, with the traffic in HI, you probably wont even grt up to an RPM where the PC5 would matter [evil] Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 20, 2015, 07:01:21 AM EEL, I greatly appreciate the info. I have the optimizer installed, I guess I will run my stock exhaust until the powder coating is complete.
Grampa and ungeheuer, I firmly believe your comments offer no assistance and are merely an attempt to trifle with people. Walk and Drive? I posted asking if it was possible to run stock exhaust with a PC5. If something is bothering you two don't reflect that onto other people. EEL, thanks again buddy! Title: Re: What to do??? Post by: ducpainter on June 23, 2015, 04:30:46 AM powdercoat your exhaust?? There are high temp powders. Hopefully that's what's being used.powdercoating has a melting temp of around 200 deg C.. you sure you want to do that? Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: koko64 on June 23, 2015, 04:45:31 AM Alot cheaper than ceramic coating? What temp range we looking at for pc? Probably less prone to scratching than ceramic too.
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 23, 2015, 08:24:15 AM Max temp after powder coating is about 250°F, the owner used an infrared thermometer and shot my exhaust in multiple places. Max temp on my exhaust was 130°F after an hour long ride in hot tropical weather (Hawaii).

Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: MotoPsycho on June 23, 2015, 12:44:04 PM I had a jet clogged on my front cylinder a while back causing a seriously lean 730 degrees header temp. No way powdercoat could handle that.
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 23, 2015, 07:01:12 PM All temperatures are Fahrenheit. I should have elaborated, I am getting just the exhaust powder coated. I'll see if I can include an image of the exhaust.
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: koko64 on June 23, 2015, 07:14:18 PM Oh I get it, the mufflers. [thumbsup]
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on June 23, 2015, 10:36:01 PM Yes the mufflers. In my defense, everything referencing the mufflers is "slip on exhaust" or "full exhaust" lol
Title: Re: What to do??? Exhaust Powdercoating for 10 days. Post by: cintronr on July 10, 2015, 07:49:30 PM I just dropped of my TB exhaust to get powder coated, only 116 USD! So excited. How do I upload pictures??? I definitely need to upload pics when I get it back.
