Post by: Raux on June 20, 2015, 09:20:52 PM
Ok, I'm thinking my clutch bearing is going, heres the symptoms
Clutch noise, grinding sound
Clutch lever sticking, popping out on release
Clutch slipping not releasing when handle released

Yep, worth a look in there and check that bearing. Best to deal with it before it takes the slave cylinder out.

Have a good look in there, bearing, hub cush drive wear, push rod, slave cylinder, tangs catching, stack height causing pressure plate to catch or not reseat square. I've seeñ the hub cush drive worn to the point of needing another thrust washer or two or new rubbers on a high mileage clutch. The hub rocks on the shaft like a bad bearing and things don't line up sometimes giving strange symptoms. Anyway, have a good look.

It was working fine. In heavy downtown traffic it just sart sticking and making a grinding noise. Then it would snatch and work fine. Then.  Slip after next stop. The grinding noise scared me more than anything. Plus first ride with the wife anywhere so not good image for her to want to go on trip with me.

Follow Koko's advice if the throwout bearing and pushrod are in good shape.  Sometimes exploratory surgery is necessary.

Wierd thought i posted solved it. Plates in wrong due to issue i was having with air in line. No more air so plate was fully opening letting friction plate slide out of basket. Swapped to correct setup all is well.

Good to hear and that no damage occurred. Also a good idea to go for another ride with the Missus. ;)
